I'm with you there oppostate and Cofty - I find it astonishing how some will see a conspiracy in just about everything. So the virus is fake is it? And all those coffins are empty? All those mourners are actors? The friend I’ve know since schooldays didn’t spend a week in intensive care and die? His funeral was a hoax and when it’s over we’ll meet up again eh? Laughable and gullible is putting it politely.

Do as we SAY, but not as we DO!

Craziest thing you ever saw in a KH?
by dubstepped ini did this in my facebook group for my podcast and it was fun.. so what's the craziest thing you ever saw?.
for me it was watching a brother have a heart attack during the meeting in the auditorium.
i was a kid and noticed him shaking and acting strange.

Not that crazy, but in our KH in the 1970s, the record player for the Kingdom Songs was by the front seat on the left of the platform. The guy assigned to operate it was an oldish Eastern European guy, who was a bit weird, and was given that privilege because he wasn’t capable of anything else. He was never an MS or elder, but he was of the ‘anointed’ and one time he put on the wrong track. Everyone started singing, but it took a few bars before the reason for the discordance sank in, following which the (relatively young) elder on the platform immediately jumped from the platform and changed the track and had everyone start again. The operator was gobsmacked, still unaware there was a problem, but after the meeting he took the young elder aside and gave him quite a mouthful. It was quite embarrassing for everyone, especially as the language wasn’t what you would expect from a ‘brother’, and certainly not in a KH.

100 Dead, but God is Merciful
by Ultimate Axiom ina plane with 99 people on board has crashed into a populated area of karachi, but at least two of the passengers survive.
one of them is reported as saying, “god has been merciful”.
what kind of mercy was shown to the other 100 or more that died?.

Reminds me of the expression, “There but for the grace of God go I”, which translates as, “There but for the lack of God’s grace goes him”.
It is so typical of believers, who attribute random good luck to God’s benevolence, but fail to follow that to the logical conclusion that bad luck must be attributable to his malevolence, or at least His indifference. Thank God I'm an atheist. -

Could Boris "save the NHS & lives" by BANNING Covid 19?
by BoogerMan inobviously not, but he could do so by banning an even greater killer - tobacco.
smoking has been identified as the single greatest cause of preventable illness and premature death in all 4 nations of the u.k. .
annually, in scotland approximately 10,000 die, in wales, 5000, and in n.i.

Whoa, hang on a sec there FedUpJW, we don’t want to throw the baby out with the bath water. Making it compulsory would mean we all die earlier, whereas good Darwinian principles require us to target only the weak willed and weak minded. Now here’s a thought, not only allow unbridled advertising, what also employ the services of Cambridge Analytica and target smokers and potential smokers with tailor made pro-smoking propaganda. I reckon that would be sufficient to weed out enough to keep the population stable.

I am not convinced about the “excessive” cost to the NHS, and to the nation as a whole, that smoking (and gluttony) incurs. And for four reasons:
First, if all those people dying of smoking related diseases (and Big Macs) hadn’t smoked, they would live longer, end up requiring care and would die of other things, all incurring costs that would otherwise have not been incurred, and that should all therefore be deducted from the costs of treating the smoking (and gluttony) related diseases.
Second, tobacco is a heavily taxed product and brings in billions of tax revenue every year. So, if nobody smoked, that revenue would also need deducting from the costs of treating the smoking related diseases.
Third, while smokers (and gluttons) are alive, they still pay into pension funds and National Insurance, and because they die early, the DWP and the pension industry saves huge amounts of pension money they would otherwise have to pay out if those people lived “full term”.
And fourth, they keep the population down, thus reducing the burden on the nation’s resources.
Only by deducting all of the above costs, from the costs of treating the smoking (and gluttony) related diseases can we get the actual cost to the nation that smoking (and gluttony) incurs.
I think there’s an argument for actually encouraging smoking. Tax it to the hilt, allow unbridled advertising, but retain the ban in public places for the sake of those of us who don’t smoke. That way more people would die before requiring long term care, and before collecting their pensions, leaving more for the rest of us. It’s all in accordance with Darwinian survival of the fittest. In the case of smoking, those with the fittest minds. -

My latest letter to WT demanding correction from their side
by Kosonen inbrothers and sisters associated with the watchtower society may 9, 2020. i have tried to inform you of the necessary adjustments you ought to take in order to truly be in the truth.
but my efforts have remained fruitless.

Kosonen, there is a basic flaw in your plan, which is why it will never work. You are working on the assumption that JWs are God’s people who have gone astray and are in need a prophet to turn them back. And there’s your problem. They are not God’s people, they never were. So even if you were a true prophet of God, He wouldn’t send you to the WTS, He has no more interest in them than He does in any other religion.

There is a basic flaw in your example of Pharaoh. Those plagues were not sent because Pharaoh ignored god’s messages, they were sent for god’s own pleasure and to show off his power. You see, he had already hardened Pharaoh’s heart in advance to make sure Pharaoh would ignore the messages - “I will harden his heart so that he will not let the people go.” (Exodus 4:21). He’s very capricious like that, so be very careful not to annoy him, especially if you claim to speak for him, for he also said, “a prophet who presumes to speak in my name anything I have not commanded him to say … must be put to death." (Deut 18:20).

That wasn’t an inconvenient truth, I found it quite fascinating, and something I will certainly read more up on. Several years ago I received a cold call offering me an investment opportunity in carbon credits, I didn’t know what they were, although I suspected they were an unethical means of making money out of efforts to reduce carbon emissions and told him to piss off, I have never thought any more of it till now, but it would appear my suspicions were correct.

I thought this would be "obvious", but apparently ...
by Simon inif you want to share a conspiracy video that is going to be removed by youtube, maybe sharing a link to a copy that is hosted on youtube isn't the best plan.. who knew?!.
social media is no longer the platform to use for controversial, alternative or "wrong think" opinions.. host it if you feel strongly about it, but don't keep posting "this video has been removed" links, it's a waste of everyone's time..

So it's confirmed, not only am I mentally diseased, I am evidently also suffering with a syndrome. Oh well, I understand it’s not fatal so I’ll just have to live with it.
The media were keen to promote it. What does that say about them?
I’m not sure what you mean by promote, but if you mean highlight, emphasize and ridicule, then it tells me they’re doing their job. If Boris Johnson made such a crass statement, I'm sure the UK media would pillory him. But what does it say about someone who calls another person highlighting it a “Typical TDS sufferer, repeating a false narrative” claiming that “it’s no different to a … hoax”? Oh, and I thought we weren’t allowed to use the words “orange-man” here, but I guess it’s OK if we put it in quotes. I have never called Donald “orange-man” myself, I think that’s far too complimentary.
The media really are the enemy of the people.
I disagree, I believe the likes of Cambridge Analytica are the real enemies of the people.

This thread was initially intended to give a little encouragement that even after 50 years, a born in can wake up. Unfortunately our meet for the end of March was obviously cancelled and I haven’t heard from my niece since then, so nothing more to report on that, and I don’t want to push her for any info.
However I did get my first nuisance call since February today, and would you believe, I then (just like the buses) got another (well my wife actually got them because I was getting the weekly shop). So it looks like the scammers are out of lock down and back at work.
As for paying more for ecologically damaging energy, I approve. And I’m quite happy to call those who insist the climate isn’t warming “global warming deniers”, and as I said before, even Martin Durkin isn’t one of those – or should I say he wasn’t one, for he now argues that warming has reached its hiatus. That’s a shame, I was looking forward to the south of England becoming another French Riviera.
